We have ordered from your restaurant to go many times and have always enjoyed the food. We decided to dine-in for the first time, we ordered one chicken dinner to share like we always do for to go, as it is typically more than enough food for the two of us.
When we received the bill, we noticed an unexpected $11.99 “vegetable plate” charge. We were told this was because only one meal had been ordered.
We understand that some restaurants have split plate fees or minimum order policies. However, this charge was not communicated by our server or listed anywhere. Had we known in advance, we would have probably ordered 2 dinners and taken a whole portion home. As for an extra $8 we could have had double the food instead of one portion for $32.
Our concern is not the policy itself, but the lack of transparency surrounding the additional charge.
